2009 — A Diamond Year
2009 marks the 60th Anniversary of the Pennsbury Marching Band "Long Orange Line". A 60th Anniversary is also referred to as the "Diamond Anniversary."
The word diamond comes from the Greek word "adamas" (αδάμας), which means unalterable and invincible. Diamonds are renowned for their superlative physical qualities, most of which originate from their strong atomic bonding. A diamond's remarkable optical dispersion results in its characteristic luster. Excellent optical and mechanical properties make the diamond the most popular gemstone.
