Marching Band Argentina Trip

Attention All Marching Band Members That Are Going To Argentina

Each passenger is allowed to take one suitcase up to 40lbs. maximum except for PCJB members who are allowed up to 45lbs. The suitcase height + width + depth cannot total more than 80 inches.

The carry-on bag must be compact enough to fit under the seat on the aircraft. The maximum size carry-on bag is 55 Centimeters height (21.5 inches)x 35 centimeters width (13.5 inches) x 25 centimeters (9.5 inches) and it must not weigh more than 8 kilograms (17 lbs). There should not be any prescribed or over the counter medicines/vitamins in any carryons. "Restricted Articles" must never be carried in the cabin of an aircraft or taken beyond the security screening point. Insecticides, dyes, and fire extinguishers are classified as dangerous goods and are not allowed on board, Gel shoe inserts are not permitted (but shoes constructed with gel heels are allowed and must be removed and screened) either as carry-on or check-in baggage. Please also note that the mace is regarded as an offensive weapons in Argentina and is prohibited. Nail files, scissors, musical reed knives are prohibited. The Pennsbury Marching Band Argentina Tour is a school sponsored trip and therefore all rules and regulations of Pennsbury High School as stated in the Student Handbook apply. Although you may purchase souvenirs that are acceptable in Argentina you will not be allowed to purchase items that would be questioned in the Handbook. No sharp objects with a point or blade will be allowed to be purchased and will be confiscated. Please refer to Pennsbury Student Handbook page 10 & 11 under endangering acts and weapons.

There are new aviation security control guidelines for screening liquids, gels and aerosols carried in cabin baggage on international flights. Please be advised that any liquids containing alcohol such as mouthwash or hand sanitizers will be confiscated from carry-ons and should be packed in suitcases. The security measures for cabin baggage (3-1-1) of air passengers include:

All liquids, gels and aerosols must be in 3.4 ounce (100ml) or smaller containers. Larger containers that are half-full or toothpaste tubes rolled up are not allowed. Each container must be 3.4 ounces (100ml) or smaller-3-1-1 rule for carry-ons = 3.4 ounce (100ml) bottle or less (by volume) ; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3.4 ounce (100ml) container size is a security measure. Consolidate bottles into one bag and X-ray separately to speed screening. If in doubt, put your liquids in checked luggage. Gallon size bags or bags that are not zip-top such as fold-over sandwich bags are not allowed. Each traveler can use only one, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. Each traveler must remove their quart-sized plastic, zip-top bag from their carry-on and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening. X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items. Items with alcohol content (mouthwash, hand sanitizers) will be removed during inspection.

Ipods with personal headphones are permitted as long as they are fitted with the standard 3.5mm jack.

First Argentina practice is January 10, 2012. Happy New Year to the Long Orange Line!
